Baylor University
Several area students have been named to the spring 2012 semester dean’s list at Baylor University in Waco, Texas.

Benedictine College
Brendan Whatley, of Lemont, has received a bachelor’s degree from Benedictine College in Atchison, Kan.
Clarke University
Shannon N. Gallagher, of Tinley Park, has been named to the spring 2012 semester dean’s list at Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa.
Creighton University
Several area students have been named to the spring 2012 semester dean’s list at Creighton University in Omaha, Neb.

Eastern Illinois University
Christie Cheatle, of Frankfort, has received the Errett Warner and H. Ogden Brainard Pre-Legal Award from Eastern Illinois University in Charleston. Cheatle is a 2008 graduate of Lincoln-Way East High School in Frankfort.
Derek DeLucia, of Orland Park, has received the Ruby Harris Scholarship Award from Eastern Illinois. DeLucia is a 2006 graduate of Sandburg High School in Orland Park.
Iowa State University
Several area students have been named to the spring 2012 semester dean’s list at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.

Moraine Valley Com. College
Trombone player Ken Cheney, of Midlothian, received an outstanding soloist distinction at the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference jazz festival. Cheney is a student at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills.
Valerie Nowicki, of Midlothian, won second place for her poem “Tucked Behind the Christmas Decorations” at the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference writers competition and festival. Nowicki is a student at Moraine Valley Community College in Palos Hills.
