Jason Arvanities, an employee at Splish Splash Pool in Midlothian, recently was named the Midlothian Park District’s Treasure of the Month for June.

Pool manager Terry Knapp nominated Arvanities for coming up with a more efficient method for cleaning the baby pool.

“Jason decided to try the robotic cleaner in the baby pool and it worked,” Kapp said. “This method not only saves time, it also cleans better.”

Arvanities lives in Midlothian with his parents and four older brothers. He will be a junior at Bremen High School this month.

This is Arvanities’ first year working for the Midlothian Park District at Splish Splash Pool. He is a lifeguard and a pool maintenance worker. Kapp said Arvanities is the first guard to go in the water for a save this season.

“We are pleased to have an employee who not only protects our pool patrons, but also searches for better ways to accomplish routine tasks,” said park district officials in a news release.
