Prosecutors have charged a Midlothian man with residential burglary after an incident Wednesday night in the 16800 block of New England Avenue in Tinley Park.
Bail was set Thursday at $100,000 for Roger Larry Crawford, 22, who is due back in court Oct. 4, police said.
Police said a woman returned home shortly before 9 p.m. and found the door to find a door of her house ajar, a light on and items disturbed, police said.
She went to a neighbor’s house to call police and saw two people flee her house.
Tinley Park police, assisted by Orland Park, Oak Forest, Cook County sheriff’s police and a Chicago police helicopter, set up a perimeter in the neighborhood and searched the area. Crawford was caught, but the other person escaped.
Police said they took jewelry items from the home.
