Bremen Key Club hosts blood drive
Bremen High School’s Key Club recently hosted a blood drive and donated 181 units of blood to LifeSource.
“I am so proud of the Bremen community, who stepped up and donated for such a worthy cause,” Key Club sponsor Jeff Dyke said.

Schwarz receives Hall of Fame Award
Executive Service Corps of Chicago recently presented Donnell J. Schwarz, of Frankfort, with the Hall of Fame Service Award in recognition of the more than 1,500 hours of service he has contributed to area nonprofit groups.
Schwarz received the award during the 2012 Celebration of Service, an annual event recognizing the impact of ESC’s 300 volunteer consultants and coaches.

FRANKFORT
Village hosting annual Ice Fest
Frankfort recently conducted its annual Ice Fest, featuring trolley rides through downtown, a live ice-sculpting demonstration, dog-sled rides, refreshments and more than 20 professionally carved ice sculptures on display at local businesses.
“The Ice Fest … provides another opportunity to showcase our downtown district and businesses through the artistry of ice sculpting,” Mayor Jim Holland said.
The Ice Fest was part of the village’s Winter on the Green series, which is held from 1 to 3 p.m. Sundays through Feb. 17 at Breidert Green in downtown Frankfort.
