Oak Forest High School English teacher Jenny Schanz’s senior Study of Contemporary Literature students had the opportunity to interview writer George Saunders.
She connected with him via cell phone for the class activity.
He spoke regarding subjects he writes about, his writing process and growing up in Oak Forest.
Saunders, an Oak Forest High School alum, has written numerous books, the most recent of which is called “Tenth of December” (Random House).
Officials said students were thrilled he took time out of his book tour schedule to talk to them.
