The South Suburban College legal studies department will host its first annual Law Day on May 1.
Area high school students will have job-shadowing opportunities in the morning at the Cook County courthouse in Markham before returning to SSC’s main campus, 15800 S. State St., South Holland, to participate in a panel discussion and breakout sessions.
All afternoon sessions are open to the public.
The panel discussion will take place from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center and will feature law and criminal justice experts, followed by a question-and-answer session with the audience.
Breakout sessions will begin about 1:30 p.m. to provide more information about the educational and career opportunities in the paralegal field, court reporting and criminal justice.
