Nicor Gas earlier this month held an open house to dedicate the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program’s Marketing and Outreach Center in Crestwood.
Attendees included state Rep. Will Davis and Crestwood aldermen Lynn Flynn and Bill Pieroth.
The new service provided by the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program will educate customers about the energy-efficiency program and guide their participation in the program, according to a press release about the event. Customers can get tips, tools and information about rebates and incentives that are available that can help them save energy and money.
Eleven new jobs were created to support the outreach center, which includes representatives who will engage with customers by phone, at community events and in meetings, the release said. Several community partners, including Moraine Valley College, assisted Nicor Gas in recruiting candidates for the positions.
“Opening the Nicor Gas Energy Efficiency Program’s Marketing and Outreach Center demonstrates our commitment to helping customers use natural gas responsibly as well as our efforts to support the local economy and grow our work force in a way that reflects the communities we serve,” Nicor Gas president Beth Reese said in the press release.
The renovations to the Crestwood regional office include the addition of 15 new workstations and a floor-to-ceiling renovation of the office area. The facility will be shared with existing Nicor Gas regional office employees.
The center is at 4829 W. 135th St.
