Channel 7 traffic reporter Roz Varon knows Chicago-area streets like few others. And perhaps she knows Blue Island roadways better than any other suburb.
For the second time this school year, Varon spent the morning broadcasting live from Eisenhower High School. After the Cardinal Dance Team participated in the Dance Team DanceOff in November on Channel 7, Varon returned to Eisenhower this week for the Show Choir ShowDown.
Varon aired her traffic reports from the theater at Eisenhower in between interviewing choral director Tina Jacklin, principal Gary Rauch and members of the show choir Express. The Eisenhower show choir then performed live.
Express won selection as one of four groups in the Chicago area for the station’s Show Choir ShowDown.
More than 200 students, parents and teachers showed up at school at 5 a.m. to cheer for Express as they enjoyed a day in the big spotlight of Chicago television.
