Jim Augle, a senior outfielder for Richards baseball, is hitting .340 with eight doubles, four home runs and 25 RBI.
The Oak Lawn-Hometown Middle School graduate played three years on the varsity.
He’s undecided as to where he will attend college.
State title game. You’re in it. What team would you most like to beat for the championship? Why?
St. Laurence. We lost 4-3 to them in eight innings on opening day. I want revenge.
Ten years from now, when you’re talking about coach Brian Wujcik, what’s the first thing that will come to mind?
His dedication. He’s so dedicated to Richards baseball.
If you could have your pick, what celebrity would you choose as your prom date?
Megan Fox.
You’re on a deserted island. You could have an endless supply of one food? What would it be?
Pulled pork from the Rib Pit.
Cubs or White Sox?
Cubs.
Should the Cubs honor Sammy Sosa with a statue at Wrigley Field?
No. Definitely not. He used steroids.
What are your impressions of BBCOR bats?
I think it’s good for high school baseball. You have to use them in college and it makes the game safer.
Is there a major difference from the old aluminum bats?
Not really. You hit the ball on the sweet spot of the bat and it still goes.
Given the chance, what person, dead or alive, would you most like to meet? Why?
Mark Grace. He was my role model when I was a kid.
What’s in your iPod?
Mostly country music. I like Tim McGraw, Jason Aldean.
As told to Pat Disabato
