Employees of Marquette Bank recently washed, sorted and packed shoes for the Share Your Soles Foundation, a nonprofit organization located in Alsip that provides shoes to people in need.
More than 40 bank employees and family members spent two days preparing shoes for shipment to Haiti and Chicago-area communities in need.
As part of this effort, Marquette Bank also participated in an employee-led Neighborhood Shoe Drive. Bank employees donated nearly 500 pairs of shoes, which were then sent to the Share Your Soles Foundation.
This was the fourth consecutive year bank employees collected shoes on behalf of the organization.
“The Share Your Soles Foundation provides our employees with a unique opportunity to make an impact in some of the most disadvantaged regions across the world,” said Betty Kosky-Harn, the bank’s executive vice president.
“When you choose to make a difference in an innocent child’s life, you bring love, hope and a sense of belonging into their life, as well as your own,” said Mona Purdy, founder of the Share Your Soles Foundation.
