North Palos School District 117 Supt. Jeannie Stachowiak recently welcomed 16 new teachers during the first day of a weeklong new hire orientation.
“I’ve been impressed with the conversations I’ve had with you during the interview process,” Stachowiak told teachers during the orientation. “I’m excited about the new year, and I can sense the excitement in you to start the year. We’re going to have a great school year.”
Stachowiak stressed the district office’s open-door policy and the importance of collaboration in helping students succeed.
“As educators, we truly have one of the most important and rewarding jobs out there,” she said. “We’re all advocates for kids. Here in District 117 we have extremely high expectations for our students and for ourselves.”
The orientation provides new teachers a chance to familiarize themselves with the district, its practices, policies and expectations, district officials said.
