Members of the Chicago Ridge Public Library’s Block of the Month Quilting Club recently donated more than 100 hand-quilted items to the library’s adult summer reading program, titled “Reading is So Delicious!”
Items include table runners, wall hangings, placemats and hot pads made from fabric with food-related designs.
“We are fortunate to have such a dedicated group of individuals supporting the importance of reading,” assistant director Kathryn Sofianos said.
Chicago Ridge residents who participated in the summer reading program, which ended Aug. 9, were eligible to win the original pieces. The quilted donations also were on display in the library’s adult services department.
