One person was injured when a fire broke out Friday morning on the second floor of an Oak Lawn home.

The homeowner, who was the only person home at the time, was hospitalized with unspecified injuries, Oak Lawn Fire Department Battalion Chief Mike Jensen said.

Jensen said firefighters were called to the scene at 8:04 a.m. and put the fire out in 10 minutes. The home in the 10000 block of South 53rd Avenue sustained moderate damage, Jensen said.

The cause of the fire was under investigation, Jensen said.
