Benson named Worth Twp. clerk

The Worth Township Board unanimously appointed trustee Roger Benson to the position of Worth Township clerk during a recent meeting.
Benson will complete the remainder of the term started by Thomas “Bud” Gavin, who died on July 7.
Benson was first elected trustee in 1997 and has chaired the Building and Grounds Committee for his entire tenure.
The board also unanimously appointed Marianne Viverito-Chmela as a trustee to complete Benson’s term.
“Mrs. Viverito-Chmela brings with a wealth of experience from her position as a Congressional aide to U.S. Congressman Dan Lipinski,” board officials said in a news release.
“She has been a resident of Oak Lawn for 14 years and looks forward to serving her constituents within Worth Township.
