Students at Dorn Elementary School in Hickory Hills learned to “Say Yes to Good Choices” by participating in a number of different activities during a recent Red Ribbon Week at the school.

Activities were planned to get children in pre-kindergarten, kindergarten and first grade involved.

One day, teachers, students and staff wore red ribbons and red clothing. On another day, everyone was encouraged to wear exercise clothing or pajamas to show that getting enough exercise and sleep is good for the body.

A soap with a “cool” smell was used one day to encourage hand-washing and good hygiene. Culminating the week, students were asked to bring in a healthy red snack.
