Dignity Memorial recently hosted the Pillars of Honor Ceremony, an organization dedicated to honoring veterans from World War II, at Blake-Lamb Funeral Home in Oak Lawn.
“These men and women fought and defended our freedom with valor and courage,” Dignity Memorial officials said in a news release. “It was through their commitment to eliminating tyranny and injustices around the world that helped preserve the freedoms we treasure today as Americans.”
The reception began with a medley of songs from the era, followed by a recognition of veterans in attendance and the unveiling of the World War II Memorial model, which was used for the commissioning of the memorial in Washington, D.C.
