Lynn Crain’s pre-kindergarten class at Dorn School in Hickory Hills recently completed its author study of Ezra Jack Keats by reading his book, “Pet Show.”
Students culminated their literacy project by staging a pet parade through the hallways of Dorn School.
But rather than bringing characters from the book such as Duke the Dalmatian or Precious the Persian from home, students brought in stuffed animals and photos of their real pets.
Students walked the school’s hallways, sharing with peers their pets and their favorite parts of the book.
Crain led the parade with the help of the classroom pet, Franklin the Turtle.
