Motivational speaker Grant Baldwin recently visited students at Oak Lawn Community High School during a program titled “Be a Difference Maker.”
Baldwin, who also is a student author and expert at helping students prepare for life after high school, drew on personal events and entertained students with humor while challenging them to think about how they can make a difference in other people’s lives.
Baldwin encouraged students to think about ways they can change their behaviors with each other, their parents and those they may not even know well at school. Students then reported to their advocacy groups to brainstorm ways they could put his message to work in their own lives.
“Instead of just telling us to make a difference, he talked about real things that actually happen in real life,” sophomore Taylor Golembeck said.
