Students at Player Early Childhood Center in Bridgeview recently studied farm animals and visited the Children’s Farm in Palos Park as part of their lesson.
Students prepared for the trip by participating in farm animal-related crafts and activities. Students also read several books about farm animals and used the Internet to find the answers to their questions.
At the Children’s Farm, students milked a wooden cow using gloves as udders; watched cow-milking demonstrations on YouTube; and played in the sensory table, which was filled with hay and several plastic farm animals. Students also made butter, which they then ate with crackers as a snack.
“The students really learned a lot from these lessons and had fun in the process,” school officials said in a news release.
