Library talk to focus on FAFSA

Accountant Gerald Knight, of Tax Busters, will give a talk on the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, or FAFSA, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 28 at the Oak Lawn Public Library, 9427 S. Raymond Ave. Knight will discuss how parents can estimate their expected contribution before submitting their FAFSA as well as strategies for increasing eligibility for financial aid. He will also explain the American Opportunity Tax Credit.
Business after hours in Orland Park
American Family Insurance, 10600 W. 143rd St., Orland Park, will host a business after hours for members of the Orland Park Area Chamber of Commerce starting at 5 p.m. Jan 31.

Palos chamber to hear Straz speech
Palos Heights Mayor Bob Straz will be the keynote speaker at the Palos Area Chamber of Commerce meeting Feb. 12 at Moraine Valley Community College, 9000 College Parkway, Palos Hills.
Registration starts at 11:45 a.m. followed by lunch at noon and the mayor’s speech at 12:30 p.m. The cost is $20.
