District 218 students selected for IMEA festival

Several music students from Shepard and Richards high schools have been selected to perform at the Illinois Music Educators Association District 1 instrumental and choral festival.
Students must audition to win selection to the festival, which draws choral and instrumental high school musicians from throughout the Southland.
Shepard students winning selection to the IMEA festival include Joe Szajek, trumpet; and Zack Zebrowski, piano (jazz band); and Kaley Lorch, alto sax (concert band).
Other students selected to perform include Khahari Cook, bass; Ernest Crossley, bass; Krystal Goldschmidt, alto; Brett Hanna, tenor; and Zack Zebrowski, bass (festival chorus).
Richards students winning selection to the IMEA festival include tenors Collin Page and Kyle Schrage (choir); Lauren Davis, French horn (band); and Roxanne Segina, trombone; and Madeline Doon, piano (jazz band).
