Mount Assisi honors fall standouts

Mount Assisi Academy in Lemont recently held its Fall Sports Banquet. The honorees included, in varsity cross country, Meghan Sherlock (Chicago) as Most Valuable Player and Alexa McGreal (Mokena) as the winner of the PreFontaine Award.

For varisty golf, winners were Jesse Batsakis (Oak Lawn) as Most Valuable Player, Trisha Peters (Homer Glen) as most improved and Colleen Sullivan (Chicago) for lowest score.

Varsity tennis honorees included Maggie Liston (Lemont) as Most Valuable Player, Emy Petraityte (Lemont) for best record and Margaret Sojka (Chicago) as most improved.

For varsity volleyball, winners were Kelly Magliano (Chicago) as Most Valuable Player, Anna Broadhurst (Oak Forest) as the winner of the Eagle Award, Amber Koenig (Chicago) as the winner of the Coach’s Award and Lizzy Vernon (Homer Glen) as most improved.

For JV volleyball, honores included Halee Hetzel (Chicago) as Most Valuable Player and Megan Sullivan (Alsip) as the Eagle Award winner. Jordan Jakubowski (Chicago) was the Eagle Award winner for freshman volleyball.
