Thomas awarded scholarship

Aliyah Thomas, of Burbank, was awarded a presidential scholarship from Illinois College in Jacksonville. Thomas is a student at Reavis High School in Burbank.

Wilkins students earn essay honors

Estrella Salgado, Klaudia Gorgon and Izabella Gieron participated in the Hickory Hills Sertoma Essay Contest.

Each was honored at the Heritage Awards ceremony. Salgado, Gorgon and Gieron are students at Wilkins Junior High School in Justice.

Burbank pupils spell success

Jihad Awwad, Abraham Matthew, Karolina Kieta, Jamie Booe, Nicholas Opiola, Megan Cramer and Matthew Diaz are the Burbank School District 111 spelling bee winners.
