More than 500 student artists and performers displayed their talents at the fourth annual Arts Extravaganza recently hosted by the Community High School District 218 Educational Foundation at Shepard High School in Palos Heights.
Jazz bands, show choirs, dance teams, improvisational theater companies, speech teams and group interpretation casts performed for four hours.
Culinary arts students and teachers prepared and served food.
The event celebrates a year’s worth of rehearsals, artistic expression and competition, officials said.
Proceeds from extravaganza fund college scholarships and grants for teachers to use to buy equipment and initiate innovative classroom projects, officials said.
