Palos Community Hospital saluted all EMTs, paramedics and first responders recently during National Emergency Medical Services Week.

The theme for this year’s EMS Week was “EMS: One Mission. One Team.”

The hospital hosted afternoon cookouts for first responders from the area.

“The Palos Community Hospital area is very fortunate to have such dedicated and hard-working emergency medical services staff operating in our community,” Sharon Cosgrove, EMS coordinator for Palos Community Hospital, said.

EMS Week is sponsored nationally by the American College of Emergency Physicians, The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Health Resources and Services Administration, and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
