What do you like about living in Chicago Ridge?
“I like the senior bus the village provides. I like living in the senior community that I do, up on 100th and Sayre. I like calling bingo games at our club meetings.”
What’s the last movie you saw?
“It was ‘Love Me Or Leave Me’ with Doris Day. It’s a musical and it also starred James Cagney. I like the real old movies. I had over 1,200 movies, I just got rid of some and now I have close to 1,000 movies.”
What’s the first thing you’d do if you were mayor?
“I’d check every nook and cranny for what’s going on in the village. I’d try to do what I could for the seniors. I’d just keep busy.”
What’s your most prized possession?
“My kids. I have two girls and four boys, 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. We have fun when we get together, but we’re spread out all over.”
What person from history do you want to meet?
“I guess I’d say (former Chicago Ridge) Mayor (Gene) Siegel. He’s done so much for the seniors in this town. He always tried to help. He’s retired now, but I think Chuck (Tokar) will do a good job as mayor.”
