What is your prized possession?
“My wife, Bette, and our three children. Two girls, 10 and 8, and a boy, 3. They pretty much make life worth living. I get more joy out of them saying ‘Daddy’ and hugging me than I would if I made $100,000.”
What are your hobbies?
“Golf, poker and backgammon. I started golfing when I was 7. I used to shoot in the high 80s. I’ve played poker for five years, and backgammon since I was little. I won $60 in a backgammon tournament in Bloomington a few weeks ago.”
What do you like about Oak Lawn?
“I like the community. The neighborhoods are quiet. I grew up in Cicero, so this is a little different.”
What’s the last movie you saw?
“The last one was ‘Grown Up 2,’ and I recommend it to everyone. It’s hilarious, better than the first one.”
What person from history do you want to meet?
“John Adams. He was the most passionate about the American Revolution. He and Ben Franklin were the forefathers in getting this country started and I think they would be appalled by what’s going on today. I’d ask what kept him interested in doing what he did. He was not a well-liked man. It had to be tough on him.”
