Dave Conrad, 57, of Chicago Ridge
What is your hobby?
“I love boating on Lake Michigan. I hope to get a yacht. We had one when I was little. We’d go across to Michigan. My dad had a gorgeous 37-footer and he sold it out from under our feet.”
What is your prized possession?
“My kids. Dave Jr. is 24. Krystle is 28. My son is a paramedic with the Chicago Ridge Fire Department. My daughter is deaf and teaches specialized kids for the Southwest Co-op. She’s one of the best lip readers in the state.”
What’s the last movie you saw?
“ ‘Zero Dark Thirty.’ It’s incredible, very patriotic. I love the Armed Forces. It’s intense to see these guys work that. It’s amazing we have forces like that. USA all the way. You’ve got to see it.”
What do you like about Chicago Ridge?
“It has a very hometown feeling. A lot of people know each other. I enjoy working with the park board, where I’m a commissioner for nine years now, and I hope to one day be a village trustee.”
Which person from history do you want to meet?
“Clint Eastwood. He’s a man’s man. You see him, you see the male race. He is ‘The Man.’ And he is a fantastic guy who does a lot for charities. I’d ask him about how he does what he does. He’s a very talented man.”
