Support group and fair for caregivers offered

The Stickney Township Office on Aging will host “Coffee and Talk,” a support group for caregivers, at the Louis S. Viverito Senior Center, 7745 S. Leamington Ave., Burbank, from 10 to 11 a.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month, and at the North Stickney Medical Center, 6721 W. 40th St., Stickney, from 10 to 11 a.m. the first Monday of each month.

These sessions are offered free to spouses, adult children and significant others who are providing care for a loved one. Refreshments will be provided.

There will also be a Community Health and Caregiver Fair from 9:30 a.m. to noon Nov. 22 at the center.

Local organizations and businesses will be available to answer questions and distribute information about many health, caregiver and safety topics, including healthy eating, immunizations, Medicare, senior services and crime prevention.

Various screenings will also be offered including blood pressure checks, cholesterol and diabetic screenings.
