Flu shots available through Palos Township

Updated: November 21, 2013 6:07AM

The Palos Township health services department has flu shots available.

For those 65 and older, the township accepts Medicare Part B. Participants are asked to bring their Medicare card and ID.

The high-dose vaccine is available. For those ages 18 to 64, the cost is $25. It is $5 for children eligible in the Illinois Vaccines for Children program. All fees are cash only. Appointments should be made by calling (708) 598-2441.

With October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month and early detection being the key to surviving, the health services department also is sponsoring a breast cancer seminar from 9 to 11 a.m. Oct. 22 at the township hall, 10802 S. Roberts Road, Palos Hills.

Elise Farrell, a nurse from Little Company of Mary’s Health Education Center, will be the featured speaker.

A light breakfast will be served. To reserve a seat, call (708) 598-2441.
