Here is a look at what Southlanders in the SouthtownStar’s North region are accomplishing in college.

News includes Alsip, Bridgeview, Burbank, Evergreen Park, Hickory Hills, Hometown, Oak Lawn, Palos Heights, Palos Park, Worth and Chicago.

Northern Illinois University

Several area students graduated from Northern Illinois University in DeKalb. They included:

Alsip — Jennifer Wodrich and Neal Frazer.

Bridgeview — Baraa Banibaker, Paul Ferfecki and Shannon Thomas.

Burbank — Amanda Leleika, Jason Cuevas, David Anians and Eric Spokas.

Evergreen Park — Christina Sekula.

Hickory Hills — Christina Zorek and Jazmine Lee.

Hometown — Jeremy Dunk.

Oak Lawn — Mitchell Downey, Ashley Sorrentino, Nicolette Samuels, Gytis Tamosaitis, Lauren Hickey and Andrew Brus.

Palos Heights — Steven Beezhold, Samantha Nickolaou, Natalie Knorr and James Follis.

Palos Park — Aileen Scarim and Jaclyn Murawska.

Worth — Kevin McGuire and Cody Dunne.

Plymouth State University

Richard Zobak, of Evergreen Park, received a bachelor’s degree from Plymouth State University in Plymouth, N.H.

Gettysburg College

Jessica Jozwik, of Palos Park, was named to the spring semester dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement at Gettysburg College in Gettysburg, Pa.

University of St. Francis

♦ Several area students received bachelor’s degrees from the University of St. Francis in Joliet. They included:

Bridgeview — Wala Elayyan.

Burbank — Sarah Garcia.

Chicago — Jayne Joyce.

Evergreen Park — David Dickey and Philip Rizzo.

Oak Lawn — Mateusz Gorecki and Arthur Stringham.

♦ Bridget Carey, of Palos Park, received a master’s degree from the University of St. Francis in Joliet.

Graceland University

Brittani LaRusso and Dariusz Obrochta, both of Oak Lawn, were admitted for the fall semester to Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa.

Marquette University

Andrew Macaitis, of Oak Lawn, and Gregory Deye, of Palos Park, received bachelor’s degrees from Marquette University in Milwaukee.
