Oak Lawn seeks volunteers to shovel seniors’ snow

Registration is open for Oak Lawn’s senior snow-shoveling program, but volunteers are needed, Trustee Alex Olejniczak (2nd) said at the Oct. 22 village board meeting.

“We are in need of many volunteers to make this program successful. Bringing this to the whole village of Oak Lawn takes a lot of work, and I know the seniors, the hundreds of seniors, who get positively affected by this will be greatly benefited if we as a board come together and coordinate this,” he said.

“There have been years when we’ve had more residents than volunteers. I know if we get the full board, businesses and the public to help out, this program truly makes a difference for seniors in a difficult time of the year,” he said.

Olejniczak is the board’s liaison to the program.

For more information on how to register or volunteer, email him at aolejniczak@oaklawn-il.gov or call him at his village hall office at (708) 346-7002.
