Here is a look at what Southlanders in the SouthtownStar’s North region are accomplishing in college.

News includes Alsip, Justice, Oak Lawn, Palos Heights, Bridgeview, Evergreen Park, Burbank and Hickory Hills.

National Technical Institute for the Deaf

Roger Maras, of Alsip, enrolled in Rochester Institute of Technology’s National Technical Institute for the Deaf in Rochester, N.Y.

The son of Mike and Judy Maras, of Alsip, is a graduate of Illinois School for the Deaf in Jacksonville, Ill.

University of Evansville

Andrew Fick, of Justice, is enrolled at the University of Evansville in Indiana.

He is majoring in theater management.

Creighton University

■ Matthew Gotfryd, of Oak Lawn, is attending Creighton University in Omaha, Neb.

The graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep in Chicago entered the College of Arts & Sciences.

■ Clare Kennedy, of Palos Heights, is attending Creighton University.

The graduate of Mother McAuley High School in Chicago entered the School of Nursing.

■ Meghan Connery, of Palos Heights, is attending Creighton University.

The graduate of St. Ignatius College Prep entered the School of Nursing.

Purdue University

Several area students received a bachelor’s degree from Purdue University in West Lafayette, Ind. They include:

Palos Heights — Amber Belcik and Katherine Brett.

Bridgeview — Jacquelyn Chigas.

Oak Lawn — Matthew Deplaris and Amanda Eble.

Evergreen Park — Kevin Galvin.

Burbank — Christina Malinowski.

Justice — Stephanie Richmond.

Hickory Hills — Joseph Sylve.
