Andy Skoundrianos. 46, Oak Lawn
What are your hobbies?
“Sports, gardening and politics. I like hockey and I’m a South Side Cubs fan. I wear that as a badge of honor. My parents were. I am. I love gardening and politics. I’ve been coming to village board meetings for 20 years. And I love ’60s British rock music, (Led) Zeppelin, (Rolling) Stones, Deep Purple, (Black) Sabbath.”
Who do you follow on Twitter?
“Sports reporters like David Kaplan, people who are the beat writers who cover local sports teams. I’m not into following celebrities on Twitter.”
What do you like about living in Oak Lawn?
“The family atmosphere. It’s big-city, but it still has a small-town feeling to it. It’s a nice community.”
What’s the last movie you saw?
“The last movie I saw was actually a concert movie. Does that count? It was ‘Genesis Revisited: Live at Hammersmith,’ a fantastic DVD. It has Steve Hackett, the original guitarist, and all the old Genesis stuff with Peter Gabriel.”
Which person from history do you want to meet?
“St. Andrew, my patron saint. I’d ask him what did he see in Jesus to make him the first called apostle. He was a fisherman, and the brother of Peter, as well. He followed John the Baptist originally. And he’s the founder of my Orthodox Church.”
