What are your hobbies?
“I like to fish. I don’t go ice fishing. I like to go out to Shabbona. I like the warm weather. Fishing is a good day for me.”
What do you like about living in Chicago Ridge?
“Well, it’s close to work. It’s a moderate town. And shopping is good. And the people, they got their issues between the rich, the poor and the in-between.”
What would you do if you were mayor for a day?
“It seems like they’re keeping up with the big cities. I’d like to see the streets cleaned a little bit better. I’ll be honest with you about that. Chop down some of the old trees. Plant new. Modernize the village. Stuff like that.”
What’s the last movie you saw?
“Day before yesterday I saw ‘Heat’ starring Al Pacino and Robert De Niro. It’s a good movie. I like the plot.”
Which person from history do you want to meet?
“Ronald Reagan. I think he had a good vision. I know the Soviet Union at the time was broke, but how did they bring it down without war? They shut it down. I’d ask him, ‘How’d you do it?’ ”
