The Peace Dance Company recently completed its season with a stellar weekend performance at Queen of Peace High School in Burbank, according to a press release from the school.
The show opened with a mix that included songs by OneRepublic, Karmen, Alex Gaudino, Pitbull and more. The opening number was followed by 13 other dances in the first act. The second act included 15 numbers followed by the finale, in which the performers danced to a “Rock this Party (Everybody Dance Now)” remix.
The dance numbers were choreographed by dance director Catherine Klod, assistant dance director Carmen Beltran, and a number of dance students, including Kieara Beecham, Jasmine Escobedo, Paloma Flores, Marnee Fuertes, Julia Galvin, Sol Granados, Sadie Haywood, Nina Izzo, Danielle Koch, Haylee Kosch, Symone McKeiver, Gabby Nowobilski, Amanda Ramos, Hannah Rizzo, Jenny Sandoval, Dijonnais Thomas and Catherine Zamolewicz, according to the release.
An alum, Tiffani Monreal, also came back to help with practices and performances and was a special choreographer, the release said.
After the Sunday show, awards were handed out to various dancers, and seniors expressed their gratitude to the directors, tearing up as they realized it was their final performance for the school, the release said.
“One of the things I am most proud of is how the girls really challenged themselves to create innovative and unique routines,” Klod said in the release. “Cancelled practices due to weather added stress to our season, but the girls really worked hard to perfect their routines. In the end, the show was a tremendous success because of their hard work and dedication.”
