Oak Lawn police blotter

VANDALISM: Someone used a sharp object to damage cooling tubes inside an air conditioner in the 9600 block of Komensky Avenue between June 1 and 14.

VEHICLE BURGLARY: Tools and prescription drugs were stolen from an unlocked vehicle June 4 or 5 in the 8700 block of New England Avenue.

NO LICENSE: Felipe DeJesus Garcia, 28, 8101 S. Komensky Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving without a valid license, and speeding after he was stopped June 5 in the 9700 block of Pulaski Road, police said.

THEFT: Numerous used or damaged tires and a transmission core were stolen June 5 from Happy Hyundai, 9121 Cicero Ave. Security video shows a man stealing the items, and employees recognized him as someone who had asked earlier that day about the items and was told he could not have them.

REVOKED LICENSE: Javier Antunez-Zepeda, 27, 4127 S. Maplewood Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving on a revoked license after a stop June 5 at 107th Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Earl Faber, 57, 6632 S. Greenwood Ave., Chicago, was charged with disorderly conduct June 5 after he began striking the driver’s side window of a car, demanding money from a 24-year-old Chicago woman in a parking lot in the 9500 block of Cicero Avenue, police said. Faber told police he often works that parking lot, seeking spare change from people.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Cory Galuszynski, 47, 5517 W. 99th Place, Oak Lawn, was charged with disorderly conduct June 5 after neighbors saw him going up and down the block, asking for money, police said.

THEFT: A bag and two Chicago vehicle stickers were stolen June 6 from a bag in a women’s locker room at Christ Medical Center, 4440 W. 95th St., where she works as a nurse.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Beverly Hill, 58, 12245 Spencer St., Alsip, was charged with driving on a suspended license June 6 after a stop in the 9300 block of Pulaski Road, police said.

DUI CASE: Alana Rae Gicius, 30, 14456 Highland Ave., Orland Park, was charged with drunken driving, speeding, no insurance and having an obstructed windshield after a June 6 stop in the 10000 block of Cicero Avenue, police said.

ARMED ROBBERY: A 38-year-old Oak Lawn man told police that a man armed with a knife tried to rob him when he got out of his car to use an ATM June 6 in the 9400 block of Cicero Avenue. The man struggled with the robber, who fled.

VANDALISM: A BB pellet broke a bay window of a house June 6 or 7 in the 10300 block of LaCrosse Avenue.

CAR THEFT: A 2014 Chrysler 200 owned by Enterprise Rent-a-Car, 4700 W. Southwest Highway, was reported stolen between June 6 and 13 from Mancari’s, 4630 W. 95th St., where it had been taken for service.

VANDALISM: A 2013 Ford Taurus was keyed on both sides June 7 in the 10400 block of Komensky Avenue.

THEFT: A cellphone was stolen June 7 after it was left it in a bathroom at Kmart, 4101 W. 95th St.

VANDALISM: A rock was used June 7 to break the glass in the front door of Jr’s Hot Dogs, 6335 W. 95th St. Nothing was stolen.

DUI ALLEGED: Pricilla Solis-Renteria, 22, 5930 S. California Ave., Chicago, was charged with drunken driving, failure to yield, driving without a valid license and no insurance after a two-car accident June 7 at Menard Avenue and Southwest Highway, police said.

THEFT: An Oak Lawn woman’s wallet containing $84, a driver’s license and three credit cards was stolen June 8 while she shopped at Fairplay Foods, 8700 Cicero Ave.

VEHICLE BURGLARY: $20 was stolen June 8 from an unlocked vehicle in the 10400 block of Austin Avenue.

VANDALISM: A rock was used to shatter a car window June 8 or 9 in the 9400 block of Melvina Avenue. Nothing was stolen.

BURGLARY: A garage in the 10000 block of Merrimac Avenue was ransacked between June 8 and 11.

NO LICENSE: Rosa Rodriguez, 40, 10724 Nordica Ave., Worth, was charged with driving without a valid license and no insurance after a stop June 9 in the 6000 block of 95th Street, police said.

THEFT: A Chicago woman’s backpack, iPad and computer tablet were stolen when she left it June 9 in the Pizza Hut dining area at Target, 4120 W. 95th St., when she took her son to the restroom.

DRUG CHARGES: Jennifer L. King, 33, 14063 Kilpatrick Ave., Unit 3N, Crestwood, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and fraudulently trying to obtain a prescription drug after she presented a phony prescription June 9 at Walgreens, 4740 W. 95th St., police said.

RETAIL THEFT: Accacia Taylor, 18, 8244 S. Ada Ave., and Destiny Jackson, 18, 10800 S. Eggleston Ave., both of Chicago, were charged with retail theft after they stole items worth $278 on June 9 from Target, 4120 W. 95th St., police said.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Samuel Trimm, 26, 5136 W. 113th Place, Alsip, was charged with disorderly conduct after a patrol officer saw him June 10 urinating in a parking lot in the 4700 block of 95th Street, police said.

THEFT: A printer, small refrigerator, desktop computer and two steppers owned by Chiro One, 5116 W. 95th St., were stolen sometime in early May from a common hallway shared by several businesses. The items were reported stolen June 10.

PROPERTY DAMAGE: Patrick Dunn, 24, 9025 Harlem Ave., Unit 2C, Bridgeview, was charged with criminal damage to property after he used his shirt to block up a toilet June 10 and flood a holding cell at the Oak Lawn Police Department, 9446 Raymond Ave., police said.

VANDALISM: A rock was used to break a window June 10 at a house in the 8900 block of McVicker Avenue.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Christopher Coleman, 33, 2932 W. 21st St., Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended license after a June 10 stop in the 9400 block of Keeler Avenue, police said.

DUI CHARGE: Humberto Bahena, 31, 5052 W. Oakdale Ave., Chicago, was charged with drunken driving after a stop June 12 in the 5500 block of 95th Street, police said.

DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Krzysztof Maka, 31, 10701 Long Ave., Oak Lawn, was charged with disorderly conduct June 12 after he yelled in a threatening manner at a neighbor with whom he’s having a dispute, police said.

DUI ARREST: Jaime Tenorio, 29, 4924 S. Kedvale Ave., Chicago, was charged with drunken driving, making an improper turn and no insurance after he was stopped June 12 in the 6200 block of 95th Street, police said.

DUI CASE: Precious Grayer, 28, 12535 Central Ave., Alsip, was charged with drunken driving, battery, driving without a valid license, not wearing a seat belt and driving with only one headlight after fighting with police during a June 12 stop at 99th Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

HEROIN ARREST: Tyler J. Kaplar, 21, 5408 W. Kimball Place, Oak Lawn, was charged with possession of heroin after he was found with the drug when police investigated a report of suspicious activity by youths June 13 in Phillips Park, 5300 W. 89th St., police said.

VANDALISM: A plastic garbage can was set on fire June 13 in the skate park at Worthbrook Park, 6300 W. 89th Place.

SOLICITING: Paula For, 38, of Richardson, Texas, was charged with soliciting without a permit and obstructing identification after an off-duty police officer saw her asking people for money June 14 in the Jewel-Osco parking lot, 9424 Pulaski Road, police said. They said she also was arrested on four warrants from Harris County, Texas.

POT POSSESSION: Barry Jones, 25, 6516 S. Claremont Ave., Chicago, was charged with possession of marijuana and driving with only one headlight after being stopped June 14 at Cicero Avenue and 95th Street, police said.
