Oak Lawn police blotter

OAK LAWN

VANDALISM: An explosive device was used to blow up a mailbox June 11 in the 9200 block of McVicker Avenue. The homeowner heard the explosion and briefly gave chase in his car after a car that had four youths.

BURGLARY: Tools valued at $5,000 were stolen between June 12 and 15 from a garage in the 10000 block of Marion Avenue.

NO LICENSE: Ionut Baldovin-Tomescu, 26, of Anaheim, Calif., was charged with driving without a valid license, soliciting without a permit, using a cellphone while driving and no insurance after a stop June 13 in the 4500 block of 95th Street, police said.

THEFTS: A catalytic convertor was stolen June 14 or 15 from a vehicle in the 9300 block of Sproat Avenue. Another was stolen June 15 in the 9600 block of Mason Avenue.

DRUG CHARGE: Kristen Kogut, 9001 Cicero Ave., Unit 114, Oak Lawn, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and syringes after she was found to have six hypodermic syringes in her purse when police stopped her for questioning after she and a friend were nearly hit by a car when cutting across Southwest Highway near Cicero Avenue on June 15, police said.

NO LICENSE: Christian Marquez, 19, 632 Larkspur Lane, Matteson, was charged with driving without a valid license, failure to yield, improper lane use and no insurance June 15 after he cut off a police car in the 10200 block of Central Avenue, police said.

POT POSSESSION: Agustin Garcia, Jr., 30, 3026 N. Troy St., Chicago, was charged with possession of marijuana June 15 after officers responded to a report of a man smoking pot in a car outside Texas Corral, 6616 W. 95th St., police said.

WARRANT ARREST: David McKeown, 28, 9120 S. 53rd Court, Oak Lawn, was arrested on a warrant out of Lee County after being stopped June 15 in the 5800 block of 90th Street, police said.

DRUG CHARGES: Dana Bruzzese, 37, 4428 S. Kedvale Ave., Chicago, was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and a syringe, driving on a revoked license and no insurance after she was found asleep at the wheel June 16 in the 9300 block of 51st Avenue, police said.

NO LICENSE: Jose Montiel, 35, 4912 W. 123rd Place, Alsip, was charged with driving without a valid license and having a defective windshield after a he was stopped June 16 at 103rd Street and Kilpatrick Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Samuel Gonzalez, 42, of Cicero, was charged with driving on a suspended license, having an obstructed windshield and no insurance after a June 16 stop at 94th Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.

MARIJUANA CHARGE: Dylan Cantu, 21, of Manteno, and Timothy O’Donnell, 25, 504 W. 32nd St., Chicago, were charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after being stopped June 16 in the 10000 block of Cicero Avenue, police said.

THEFT: A 79-year-old Chicago woman told police that someone stole $20 from a folder on her bed table June 16 at Manor Care Health Services, 9401 Kostner Ave.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Mohamed Aziz Abdulaziz, 18, 10310 Mayfield Ave., Oak Lawn, was charged with driving on a suspended license, using an electronic device while driving and not wearing a seat belt June 17 after a stop in the 5800 block of 103rd Street, police said.

POT POSSESSION: Laimis Stanevicius, 29, 4829 W. 109th St., Unit 302, Oak Lawn, was charged with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia when officers responded June 17 to a call of people smoking pot in Memorial Park, 5739 W. 102nd St., police said.

VANDALISM: A rock was used to break a window June 17 or 18 at Meyer Tool, 4601 W. Southwest Highway.

DAMAGE: Someone tried to break into a van June 18 in the 8700 block of Merrimac Avenue. Nothing was stolen.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Tameshay Prude, 31, 6444 Wood St., Chicago, was charged with driving on a suspended license after being stopped June 18 at 98th Place and Cicero Avenue, police said.

WARRANT ARREST: Antoine Deshazier, 42, 8034 S. Maryland, Unit 3, Chicago, was arrested June 19 on a DuPage County warrant for battery after officers were called to a business in the 9600 block of Pulaski Road about a man who was crying, police said. They said Deshazier told them he was going through rough times, and officers ran a background check.

VANDALISM: Numerous scratches were found June 19 on a car in the 9600 block of Ridgeland Avenue.

BATTERY: Kenneth Rasmussen, 55, 9823 S. 54th Ave., and Christopher Berg, 55, 9817 S. 54th Ave., both of Oak Lawn, were charged with battery June 19 after getting into a fight, police said.

BURGLARY: An ATV was stolen June 19 or 20 from a garage in the 6700 block of 87th Place.

VANDALISM: Pink paint was sprayed June 19 or 20 on the north side of the Oak View Community Center and under the canopy area of a jungle gym.

ASSAULT: Robert Martin, 64, 14509 Kimbark Ave., Dolton, was charged with assault after he raised his cane and threatened to beat another man visiting a resident June 20 at Manor Care, 6300 W. 95th St., police said.

WARRANT ARREST: Christopher Silich, 28, 8810 Corcoran Road, Hometown, was arrested on a Cook County warrant for battery after he was found sleeping June 20 in the Village Green, police said. They said he also was charged with obstructing identification for giving officers a fake name.

WARRANT ARREST: Patricia Rimmer, 32, of Madison, Wis., was arrested on a Palatine warrant and was charged with soliciting without a license when she was stopped June 20 while selling candy, allegedly for a team, in the 9500 block of Cicero Avenue, police said.

HOME BURGLARY: Two laptop computers, cash, credit cards and jewelry were stolen June 20 from an apartment in the 9600 block of Ridgeland Avenue.

THEFT: An 86-year-old Oak Lawn’s woman wallet containing $200 was stolen June 21 as she shopped at Jewel-Osco, 4650 W. 103rd St.

MARIJUANA CHARGE: Christopher Anderson, 20, 9908 S. Wentworth Ave., Chicago, was charged June 21 with possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after there was a complaint about the odor of pot in the employee locker room of Target, 4120 W. 95th St., police said.

POT POSSESSION: Raymond Pitcher, 35, 14139 Western Ave., Unit 131, Dixmoor, was charged with possession of marijuana and resisting arrest after he was seen June 21 walking in traffic on Cicero Avenue near 102nd Street, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Lisa Hensley, 34, 7007 W. 88th Place, Bridgeview, was charged with driving on a suspended license and failure to surrender suspended license plates after she was stopped June 22 at 93rd Street and Oak Park Avenue, police said.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Dontae Williams, 29, 10544 Karlov Ave., Oak Lawn, was charged with driving on a suspended license, no insurance and not wearing a seat belt after a stop June 22 in the 10400 block of Cicero Avenue, police said.

TOO MUCH NOISE: Malachy Farrell, 34, 9208 Monitor Ave., Oak Lawn, was charged with keeping a disorderly house because officers were twice called there June 22 due to complaints about loud noise.

NO LICENSE: Missael Coello, 20, 5343 S. Talman Ave., Chicago, was charged with driving without a valid license and possession of marijuana, and Miguel Coello, 20, of the same address, was charged with public indecency for urinating in a parking lot after they were stopped June 22 at 95th Street and 54th Avenue, police said. They said Giovanni Hernandez, 23, 3015 W. 54th St., Chicago, was charged with possession of marijuana.

SUSPENDED LICENSE: Marquis Applewhite, 21, 8300 S. 88th Ave., Unit 112, Justice, was charged with driving on a suspended license and driving with only one headlight and no rear plate light after a June 23 stop at 110th Street and Cicero Avenue, police said.
