Chicago Ridge cancer survivor gives back
Karen Bruck, Chicago Ridge, shared her survivor story at the recent American Cancer Society Relay for Life event in Tinley Park. “I was only 41 (when I was diagnosed with breast cancer),” she said. “And, my husband was in treatment for esophageal cancer.”

Quilt club sews charity
The Chicago Ridge Library recently hosted its second Quilt and Needlecraft Show featuring 26 quilts and quilted items produced by 13 women, as well as needlecraft items made by five women. The library’s club often takes time for charity work as well.
Run for Hope draws $120,000 for children
Dianette and Ruben Berrios, along with 80 friends and relatives, participated in the sixth annual Running for Hope 5K that raised money for Advocate Children’s Hospital in Oak Lawn and the Ronald McDonald House. The Berrios ran in memory of their daughter who died after suffering from congenital heart disease.
