A longtime Orland Park resident, Charles W. Krezwick, will fill out the remainder of Kevin McCarthy’s term as the 37th District state representative, Orland Park Mayor Dan McLaughlin said Monday.
McCarthy resigned last month.
Krezwick, 64, is an Air Force veteran and member of the American Legion, and previously was a village trustee and interim mayor in Calumet Park.
McLaughlin, who is an Orland Township Democratic Committeeman, was chosen ahead of 16 other candidates.
Krezwick, a 25-year resident of Orland Park, is a graduate of Eisenhower High School in Blue Island and has a degree in public administration from Governors State University.
He was a former administrative aide for U.S. Rep. Marty Russo and worked for three years for U.S. Rep. Bobby Rush.
