Fish Tales Fishing Club in Oak Forest recently netted 119 toys, $195 in gift cards and $235 in cash to benefit the Pediatric Oncology Treasure Chest Foundation, a nonprofit group in Orland Park that provides toys, gifts and gift certificates to children and teens fighting cancer.

Fish Tales is a group of men and women who meet monthly to discuss fishing techniques, conduct seminars about local lakes and to support the South Suburban Special Recreation Association by organizing weekly fishing trips all summer.

“We wanted to give back because the toys are put to good use all year round,” said Fish Tales member Fred Howes. “It is such a good thing that the Treasure Chest Foundation does.”

“A toy drive of this magnitude is a true blessing,” said Treasure Chest founder and CEO Colleen Kisel.
