Brent Novosel, a senior with Mount Carmel hockey, played youth hockey for the Orland Vikings.

The 6-foot-2, 160-pound forward is a resident of Orland Park and a graduate of Century Junior High.

He’s also a member of the Caravan baseball team.

Who introduced you to hockey?

My dad got me started. My older brother (Blake) played for the Vikings and I’d go watch and want to play.

State title game. You’re in it. What team would you want to play for the championship? Why?

St. Rita. They’ve won the Kennedy Cup five times in a row and a couple of years ago they won state. They’re our rivals.

What’s in your iPod?

A.E.R, The Movement, Skizzy Mars.

Given the chance, what person, dead or alive, would you most like to meet? Why?

Wayne Gretzky. He’s the greatest player of all time. I’d like to talk to him and learn some things from him.

If you could have your pick, what celebrity would you choose as your prom date?

Natalie Portman.

Your team crashes on a deserted island. Who gets eaten first?

Dylan Klouda (junior, forward). We used to pick on him for being chubby, but he’s slimmed down a lot. We still pick on him.

What’s it mean to you to wear the Mount Carmel jersey?

My dad went to Mt. Carmel and so did my brother. There’s a lot of tradition. It’s a winning program. They dominated in the 1980s. I always hoped to be that team.

You’re on a deserted island. You can have an endless supply of one food. What would it be?

Honey BBQ boneless wings from Buffalo Wild Wings.

As told to Pat Disabato
