Cheesecake Factory coming to Orland Park

Updated: July 2, 2012 9:52AM

A Cheesecake Factory restaurant is coming to Orland Park.

Mayor Dan McLaughlin made the announcement at Monday’s village board meeting. The chain anticipates opening in Orland Square Mall by the end of this year.

The Cheesecake Factory will move into the former Jos. A Bank location on the mall’s lower level.

The 11,000 square-foot restaurant will seat 290 people, Trustee Kathleen Fenton said.

Fenton said Orland Park’s Cheesecake Factory is one of eight new locations in the United States.

“We feel very lucky to snag them in here,” Fenton said. “We are excited about this project and look forward to a huge success for them.”

McLaughlin said the restaurant is one of several new businesses opening in Orland Park.

Earlier this month, a ribbon cutting was held at the new home of BMW of Orland Park, northeast of 159th Street and Wolf Road.

“In about a six- or seven-month period, we will be opening up a new BMW dealer, Whole Foods, Berkot’s, Dave and Buster’s and the Cheesecake Factory in addition to other projects,” McLaughline said. “Those are five huge projects that we are very excited (about) … bringing new jobs to the area as well as new income.”
