ORLAND PARK — Fire shut down Papa Joe’s restaurant for a few hours between lunch and dinner Saturday.
The fire was one of two that broke out about the same time in Orland Park.
The Papa Joe’s fire started about 1:30 p.m. and was related to roof repairs that were being done at the restaurant at 14459 LaGrange Road, Orland Township Fire Battalion Chief Mike Schofield said.
“There’s a good amount of damage in one part of the dining area,” Schofield said.
That area remained closed after the fire, Schofield said. But the restaurant was back in business by late afternoon.
In a residential fire at 7732 Brookgate Court, a teenage girl suffered minor burns, Schofield said.
That fire was called in one minute after the Papa Joe’s fire.
The cause of the fire on Brookgate Court is under investigation, Schofield said. The house sustained significant smoke damage.
