The Orland Township Health Services Department recently hosted its Children Count Back-to-School Health Fair in Orland Park.
The event featured free vaccines, physicals, vision screenings and haircuts.
Officials from the Orland Park Police Department also handed out DNA kits consisting of fingerprints and samples of hair follicles.
Orland Fire Protection District representatives encouraged proper safety protocol by conducting car seat checks for parents.
“There is nothing I take more seriously than the health and safety of our residents, especially our young children,” said Orland Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady. “Both organizations communicated important information on the day of the health fair.
“I hope that parents will go on to utilize and demonstrate their new knowledge, resulting in a safer community of children.”
