Here is a look at what Southlanders are accomplishing in college.
News from the SouthtownStar’s Central region includes Frankfort, Orland Park, Tinley Park, Manhattan, Lockport and Oak Forest.
Iowa StateUniversity
Olivia Beggs, of Frankfort, has received the Dairy Foods Scholarship; Alec Wilhelmi, of Frankfort, has received the Achievement Award; and Kristen Wiedenski, of Orland Park, has received the Noma Scott Lloyd Scholarship and the Mary Zetta Lind Scholarship. All three are students at Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa.
Knox College
John Salvatore Cusimano, of Tinley Park; and Kailee Eileen Gawlik, of Manhattan; each has been named to the spring 2012 term dean’s list at Knox College in Galesburg, Ill.
Monmouth College
Samantha Jagust, of Lockport, has graduated with a degree in French from Monmouth College in Monmouth, Ill.
University at Albany
Nicole Lewis, of Orland Park, has received a bachelor’s degree from the University at Albany in Albany, N.Y.
University of Minnesota
Daniel R. Orseske, of Oak Forest, has been named to the spring 2012 semester dean’s list at the University of Minnesota’s Twin Cities campus.
