Horton Group buys brokerage

Orland Park-based insurance brokerage The Horton Group said Tuesday it has completed a strategic merger agreement with Cassady Neeser & Brasseur, an insurance brokerage in South Bend, Ind. Financial terms were not disclosed.
Horton Group said the merger was completed Oct. 31. Cassady Neeser & Brasseur will operate under its current name and will be a subsidiary of Horton Group, the Chicago area’s fifth-largest insurance brokerage.

Grant awarded for Tinley conference
The Chicago Southland Convention & Visitors Bureau recently awarded a grant of $7,500 to the Lyke Foundation for the Archbishop James P. Lyke Liturgical Conference that will be held next June at the Tinley Park Convention Center.
The Lyke Conference is a four-day event consisting of workshops addressing the needs within the African-American Catholic community. The Lyke Foundation will use the grant for advertising.
