At a committee meeting Monday, Orland Park trustees will consider plans for a new McDonald’s near Wolf Road and 179th Street. The village’s plan commission last week recommended approval of preliminary plans for the restaurant, 11111 W. 179th St., which would include a drive-through, according to village documents.
The documents state the fast-food chain has wanted to open a restaurant in that area of the village for many years.
The developer would tear down an existing building that houses a Great Clips salon and formerly included a Blockbuster video store. That space is now vacant.
Should the village board’s Development Services and Planning committee recommend approval at Monday’s meeting, the restaurant’s plans would have to be voted on by the full village board. There are currently three McDonald’s in the village, including one on 159th Street west of Wolf Road.
