Here’s what Southlanders are accomplishing in college.

University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign
Jessica Gonzales received an Illinois Engineering Achievement Scholarship. Gonzales graduated from Homewood-Flossmoor High School in Flossmoor and is a freshman pursuing a degree in aerospace engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Lewis University
Stephanie Tribo and Robert Granko, both of Manhattan; Brian Wilhelm, of New Lenox; and Emily Grimm, of Orland Park; each presented demonstrations for third- to fifth-grade students and their families at “Night at the Lab” at Lewis University in Romeoville. Lewis University students Tribo, Granko, Wilhelm and Grimm participated in this event as part of the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience program.

University of St. Francis
Jessica Lynn Nayder, of Mokena, was named a student laureate by the Lincoln Academy of Illinois. Nayder is a senior at the University of St. Francis in Joliet.
