Members of the Orland Fire Protection District recently visited with students at Center School to promote and demonstrate safety in the home.
Students in first through third grades visited the district’s Safety House trailer and heard from Orland firefighters about safety in the kitchen, electrical outlets and how to escape from the bedroom in case of a fire.
Students also learned about smoke alarm checks, the danger of playing with matches, potentially harmful electrical cords and recognizing poisonous liquids that look like drinks.
